Joe Gardner is an ordinary man with an extraordinary dream: to live for music. Although he works as a middle school music teacher, his true passion is jazz. His life takes an unexpected turn when he finally gets the opportunity he’s been waiting for his whole life—a successful audition at the Half Note Club, a prestigious jazz venue. Everything seems to indicate that his musical career is about to take off. However, on that very same day, he suffers an accident that completely changes his destiny.
The incident separates his soul from his body and transports him to a mysterious place known as the You Seminar, a kind of spiritual dimension where souls are prepared before being born on Earth. In this place, souls discover their personalities, talents, and passions, gaining the spark that gives their existence meaning before being assigned to a human body. Joe, desperate to return to his life and not lose the chance at his dream career, must find a way to get back to Earth.
During his journey, he meets 22, a soul who has spent centuries in the You Seminar and has persistently refused to be born. Cynical and uninterested, 22 finds no motivation to live on Earth, convinced that there is nothing special worth experiencing. Despite their differences, Joe and 22 form an unlikely alliance: he wants to return to his body, and she, with little enthusiasm, agrees to help him.
What begins as a quest to reclaim his life turns into a transformative journey for both. Through their shared experiences, Joe begins to question the true meaning of purpose and passion, while 22 discovers that perhaps life on Earth might have something to offer after all.
