In a forgotten corner of the world, surrounded by mist and mountains, lies a small village on the island of Carpathia. There, life unfolds in a simple rhythm, almost frozen in time, governed by the seasons, the land, and the old stories whispered by the fire. One of those legends tells of the ochi, elusive creatures that dwell in the deepest corners of the forest. According to the elders, these beings are dangerous—perhaps even cursed—and for generations, the villagers have been taught to fear them.
In the midst of this community lives Yuri, a shy and hardworking young girl raised on a farm with her family. From a young age, she has learned to follow the rules of her environment and to keep her distance from anything that defies human understanding—especially the ochi. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when, during a walk in the woods, she stumbles upon a wounded and abandoned baby ochi.
Instead of feeling the fear that was always instilled in her, Yuri is moved by the creature’s vulnerability. Without thinking too much, she decides to help it. This act of compassion marks the beginning of an adventure that will lead her to leave her home behind and embark on a journey into the unknown, in search of the place where the creature truly belongs.
