During a deeply emotional visit to Israel, activist and content creator Montana Tucker met with children who survived the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023. What she heard were heartbreaking accounts of unimaginable violence, told by the youngest victims, who are still trying to understand and process the trauma they experienced that day.
Many of these children shared how they were forced to hide for hours as armed men stormed their communities. Some managed to take shelter with their families in safe rooms, listening to gunfire and screams just beyond the walls. Others were not as fortunate: they witnessed the murder of their parents or were separated from loved ones in the chaos.
One of the most striking testimonies came from a girl barely 10 years old, who described how she managed to escape through a window after her home was invaded. She walked for kilometers until she found help. Another child recounted being held captive for hours, surrounded by armed strangers, not knowing if he would ever see his family again.
