Jake and Will Grimm, known throughout Europe for their supposed supernatural feats, travel from village to village posing as fearless monster hunters and exorcists of enchanted creatures. These charismatic brothers are nothing more than skilled con artists who live off the fears of peasants, using special effects, costumes, and a deep knowledge of folklore to convince the gullible that they’ve been saved from fantastical threats.
For years, their traveling act has been a success: they arrive in a village, investigate local tales of witches, goblins, or ghosts, stage an elaborate performance that simulates the expulsion of these entities, and then collect a generous reward for their “services.” The Grimms have perfected their ruse and seem untouchable—until fate leads them to what appears to be just another case… but isn’t.
Everything changes when they arrive in a remote village haunted by the mysterious disappearance of young girls near an ancient forest. Unlike their previous adventures, this time the rumors seem to have real substance. Villagers speak of a hidden tower, whispering trees, and a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows. Though they initially try to apply their usual method of deception, they soon discover that this time it’s something entirely different: a real magical curse.
