In the city of Lagos, the holiday season of "Detty December" becomes the perfect backdrop for a whirlwind of emotions and romantic surprises. Fiyin, a young woman confident in her feelings, has always believed that her best friend Elo is the love of her life. They have shared a deep bond since childhood, but when Elo returns home for the holidays, Fiyin is completely shocked to discover that he has a secret fiancée. This revelation shakes Fiyin's world, as she never imagined that their friendship could turn into something so complicated. Throughout the story, Fiyin faces the difficult task of accepting this new reality and redefining her relationship with Elo, while grappling with the confusion of her own feelings.
On the other hand, Gbemi finds herself at an emotional crossroads. She is torn between her current boyfriend and an old flame that reappears in her life during the holiday season. The attraction to her ex doesn't fade, putting her in a tough spot as she questions whether she should continue with the security of her current relationship or risk reigniting a passion from the past. Gbemi faces the uncertainty of what she truly wants and needs, while exploring the boundaries of her heart.
In the same Lagos, Ivie, a young woman raised in London, arrives in Nigeria hoping to have a fun and wild vacation. However, what she didn’t expect was to find love in the midst of her search for freedom. Ivie meets Ajani, a charismatic man who captivates her from the very first moment. What started as an attempt to live out a fleeting adventure quickly transforms into something deeper. Ivie finds herself caught between the excitement of an unexpected relationship and doubts about whether this romance is just a holiday fling or something more lasting.
Through these intertwined stories, "Detty December" offers an honest and entertaining look at the emotional and romantic challenges that arise during the holiday season.
