In an act of defiance, Imhotep attempted to resurrect her after her death, using dark and forbidden rituals. His actions angered the gods, and as punishment, Imhotep was condemned to a fate worse than death. The high priest’s body was mummified alive, his soul trapped for eternity, with a curse attached to his name: should he ever return to life, unimaginable horrors would be unleashed upon the world.

Three thousand years later, the ruins of Hamunaptra are rediscovered, setting off a chain of events that brings Imhotep back from the dead. The curse that once bound him to his eternal prison is broken, and Imhotep seeks revenge and the resurrection of his lost love, Anck-su-Namun. However, his quest to revive her involves unleashing terrifying plagues upon the world, all while he seeks to use the power of the ancient magics he once wielded.
