In the vast underwater kingdom ruled by the powerful King Triton lives Ariel, the youngest of his daughters. Unlike her sisters, Ariel is not content with the wonders of the ocean. Curious, brave, and determined, she dreams of exploring the human world—a longing her father has strictly forbidden. Her fascination with the surface goes beyond mere curiosity: Ariel yearns to understand life beyond the sea, a desire that drives her to defy the rules of her world.
During one of her excursions to the surface, Ariel witnesses a shipwreck and saves a young human prince named Eric. In that moment, a deep connection is born between them. Eric represents everything Ariel has ever longed for: freedom, adventure, and the possibility of a different kind of love. However, the rules of the ocean are clear—merfolk must not get involved with humans. Faced with the impossibility of being with him, Ariel makes a dangerous decision.
Desperate to live on land and get closer to Eric, Ariel turns to the feared sea witch, Ursula. This dark and cunning creature offers her a deal: Ariel will receive human legs for three days, during which she must obtain a kiss of true love in order to remain on land. In exchange, Ariel must give up her voice—her most powerful and distinctive gift. Without fully understanding the consequences, she accepts the deal.
