After the violent and gruesome death of Jigsaw, the infamous serial killer known for his cruel life-or-death games, the police rush to crown a new hero: Detective Mark Hoffman. At first glance, Hoffman seems like the perfect man for the job. His commitment to justice and his supposed bravery in critical moments make him the ideal figure to put an end to the nightmare Jigsaw had sown for years. However, not everyone is convinced that Hoffman is the upstanding person he appears to be.

Agent Strahm, one of the most astute and dedicated members of the investigation team, begins to notice certain irregularities in Hoffman’s behavior and past. His intuition tells him that something doesn’t add up, and determined to uncover the truth, Strahm starts digging deeper into the detective’s personal and professional history. As he delves into Hoffman’s past, shadows and secrets emerge that could cast doubt on the heroic image Hoffman tries to project to his colleagues and society.
