From an early age, Mike Wazowski had a clear dream: to become one of the greatest scarers in the monster world. Inspired by the elite professionals in his field, he always knew that the first step toward achieving his goal was to enroll at the prestigious Monsters University (MU), the most renowned institution for training scarers. Intelligent, methodical, and full of enthusiasm, Mike was convinced that with enough effort, he could reach any goal.
However, as his first semester at MU begins, Mike quickly discovers that the competition is fierce, and natural talent can sometimes outweigh discipline and hard work. It is at MU that he meets James P. Sullivan, better known as “Sulley”—a large, charismatic, and confident monster from a legendary family of scarers. Unlike Mike, Sulley relies more on his innate ability than on preparation or dedication. This clash of mindsets soon sparks a strong rivalry between the two.
Their conflict escalates until their reckless and competitive behavior leads to both being expelled from MU’s prestigious scare program. What seems to be the end of their dreams turns into an unexpected opportunity. In order to be reinstated, they must learn to cooperate and prove they can work as a team. The challenge won’t be easy: they are required to compete in a series of university games—alongside a group of misfit monsters considered underdogs and unlikely to succeed.
