In the vast universe of superheroes, few characters have caused as much chaos as Hancock. Hancock’s life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Ray Embrey, an idealistic public relations expert who sees in him not only a chance to advance his own career, but also the opportunity to turn the antihero into someone worthy of admiration. Embrey proposes a radical plan: Hancock should voluntarily surrender to the authorities and serve time in prison for the damage he’s caused. The logic behind this strategy is simple but risky—only when the world starts to miss him will it begin to appreciate him.

Against all odds, the plan works. Hancock’s absence creates a void in the city, leading the public to reconsider his value.
