Brothers Geoff and Rich Brewer have lived a life defined by competition. Since their childhood, both have been caught in a constant struggle to win their parents' affection, achieve their professional ambitions, and, of course, win the hearts of the same women. Rich, the older brother, always seems to come out on top in each of these battles, leaving Geoff trapped in the shadow of his success. However, this pattern of superiority is not just a matter of healthy rivalry; it has been a constant source of frustration and resentment for Geoff, who watches as his brother always seems to have the upper hand.
The brothers' lives take an unexpected turn when tragedy strikes their family. A strange and brutal accident alters the course of their lives, plunging Geoff into deep despair. Feeling as though everything is falling apart around him and not knowing how to handle the situation, Geoff is pushed to make a drastic decision: he seeks help from a remote cult rumored to possess supernatural powers. In his desperation, Geoff is willing to try anything that might change his fate, even if it means trusting a group of people who, on the surface, seem to lack any kind of credibility.
The cult, a clumsy and somewhat disorganized group, performs a ritual in an attempt to solve the problem that is afflicting Geoff. Although at first it seems that the situation improves and the problem is resolved, it soon becomes clear that what the cult has unleashed is far more dangerous than they had anticipated. What initially appeared to be a magical solution turns into an evil force that begins to spill over the borders of the small town where the Brewer brothers live. Instead of solving the problem, the ritual has unleashed a dark and malevolent force that threatens to destroy everything Geoff and Rich know.
