Disenchanted
The movie Enchanted (2007) offers a clever and entertaining reinterpretation of Disney's classic fairy tales. The story follows Giselle (Amy Adams), a princess who lives in the magical kingdom of Andalasia, a world where true love and happy endings are the norm. However, her fate takes a drastic turn when the evil Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), fearing she will lose her throne, banishes her to a completely unknown place: the chaotic and modern Manhattan.
Disoriented in the big city, Giselle collides with a reality that doesn't follow the rules of magic or spontaneous songs. Her optimism and sweetness seem out of place until she crosses paths with Robert (Patrick Dempsey), a skeptical and divorced lawyer who reluctantly decides to help her. As Giselle tries to adapt, her fiancé in Andalasia, the brave but naïve Prince Edward (James Marsden), arrives in New York determined to rescue her, triggering a series of comical misadventures that lead her to question her beliefs about love.
As her adventure in the real world unfolds, Giselle discovers that true love is not always found in perfect stories but in the small moments of everyday life. Her own transformation also inspires those around her, especially Robert, who begins to regain faith in the magic of love.
