In a small Mexican town lives Miguel, a young boy with a deep passion for music, a natural talent for playing the guitar, and a clear dream: to become a musical legend. However, there is a major obstacle in his path—his own family. For generations, the members of his household have strictly forbidden any connection to music, due to an old family story marked by abandonment and pain.
Despite his family’s rules, Miguel finds inspiration in Ernesto de la Cruz, a mythical figure in Mexican folklore, considered the greatest musician of all time. Fascinated by his songs, his films, and his philosophy of life, Miguel decides to follow in the footsteps of his idol, even if it means defying his family’s wishes.
On the Day of the Dead, a deeply rooted celebration in Mexican culture, Miguel uncovers a mysterious connection between himself and Ernesto de la Cruz. An unexpected twist leads him to cross the threshold into the “Land of the Dead,” a magical, colorful, and vibrant place where the souls of the departed live on in the memories of their loved ones.
