For years, this has been the Bladecut family business, and Abbie has grown up in its shadow. The chilling tapes, along with the macabre traditions of her family, are a constant presence in her life.
Despite the normalization of this grim trade in her world, Abbie finds herself questioning everything. As she grows older, the horrific nature of her family’s business begins to weigh heavily on her conscience. She starts to see her father’s actions for what they truly are—dark, disturbing, and morally bankrupt. Abbie’s internal conflict deepens when she experiences the innocent and beautiful feelings of a first crush, which contrast sharply with the brutality she has been raised to accept. The budding affection she feels for someone becomes a beacon of hope, a symbol of a life outside of the violence and fear that has defined her existence.
This newfound tenderness prompts Abbie to reassess her place in the family business. She begins to wonder whether it’s possible to break free from the macabre traditions that have been passed down through generations. The more she explores her own desires and emotions, the more she realizes that there might be a way to forge a new path—one that doesn’t involve profiting from human suffering.
