Black Beauty
The story begins when Black Beauty is a young horse living on an idyllic farm, surrounded by care and affection. However, his life takes a turn when he is sold to different owners, some kinder than others. Throughout his life, Black Beauty encounters a series of people with varying attitudes towards him, illustrating the unpredictable and often cruel nature of humans towards animals. Throughout his journey, the horse experiences both kindness and brutality, and as the story progresses, his voice becomes a call for awareness about the responsible and respectful treatment of animals.
Through his eyes, we see the harsh reality of a horse's life in the 19th century, when they were used for various tasks, from pulling carriages to working on farms. Black Beauty describes the long workdays, the lack of consideration for his well-being, and the unhealthy conditions they were often subjected to. Nevertheless, he also witnesses moments of tenderness and love, when horses are treated with respect and care.
The narration of Black Beauty is not only a reflection on the treatment of horses but also a critique of society and the injustices that often go unnoticed. The work denounces the exploitation of horses, highlighting the importance of empathy and respect towards all living beings. The horse’s voice, full of wisdom and sensitivity, invites readers to reflect on the bond between animals and humans, and how our actions have a profound impact on their lives.
