Synopsis
Edward’s life, as a middle-aged British novelist, is about to take a significant turn. After years of hard work, frustrations, and rejected manuscripts, his literary career is finally beginning to take off. On the verge of embarking on a long-awaited promotional tour across the United States, everything seems to be falling into place. However, just when he needs focus and peace the most, fate — and his friends — have other plans for him.
In a decision as impulsive as it is reckless, Edward’s closest friends decide to take a last-minute trip to Spain to celebrate Pride, leaving him with one “small” responsibility: taking care of their mothers while they’re away. Without warning, four elderly women — each with a personality more overwhelming than the last — show up at Edward’s doorstep, turning his quiet retreat into an emotional battlefield.
What follows is a weekend full of comedic situations, awkward moments, and unexpected revelations. Each of the mothers arrives with her own emotional baggage: one is eccentric and spiritual, another is controlling and demanding, a third is stuck in the past, and the last speaks her mind with no filter whatsoever. Already used to the challenge of caring for his own mother, Edward soon finds himself completely overwhelmed by this unusual quartet of ladies.
