Synopsis
In the world of monsters, scaring is serious business. In fact, it is the main source of energy for their society. In the city of Monstropolis, the most important and respected company is Monsters Inc., a massive power plant that generates electricity from the screams of human children. But there’s a crucial detail: monsters believe that children are toxic. Any contact with them is considered dangerous and is strictly forbidden.
James P. Sullivan, known as “Sulley,” is the company’s top scarer. Big, furry, and blue, Sulley takes his job very seriously. Alongside his assistant and best friend, Mike Wazowski —a green, one-eyed ball— they form one of the most efficient teams in the company. Every night, they pass through magical doors that transport them to the human world, specifically into children’s bedrooms, where they must elicit the screams that power their city.
But everything changes one night when a little girl, whom Sulley later names “Boo,” accidentally sneaks into the monster world. Her presence triggers chaos at Monsters Inc. and throws the entire organization into disarray. Panic spreads among the employees, who fear that contact with the girl could be deadly. However, Sulley soon realizes that Boo poses no threat at all. On the contrary, she is innocent, cheerful, and adorable.
